Roam Sailing is a Croatia sailing tour operator specialising in 8-day sailing experiences along Croatia's Dalmatian Coast. We bring together travellers from around the world for a social, relaxed and adventurous week exploring Croatia by boat.
Our Croatia sailing tours combine island hopping, swimming, local food, Croatian culture, adventure, free time and some of the country's best nightlife. Guests visit incredible destinations including Hvar, Korčula, Mljet and Dubrovnik while travelling with like-minded people who want to experience more than just the party scene.
While commonly known as Croatia sailing tours, Roam Sailing operates its experiences on spacious motorboats rather than traditional small sailing yachts. Our boats provide private ensuite cabins, an onboard chef, private bar, dining areas, multiple lounge spaces and large sundecks, giving guests the comfort and space to enjoy a week on the Adriatic.
Roam Sailing was created for travellers who want to experience Croatia, meet great people and have an incredible week — without a holiday centred around drinking every night.
Why Was Roam Sailing Created?
Roam Sailing was created after our founder, Benny Madden, saw a gap in the Croatia tour market through his own experience working as a tour guide in Croatia.
Many tours appeared to fall into two categories.
There were party-focused Croatia tours aimed primarily at younger travellers, where drinking and nightlife could dominate the week. Then there were more traditional tours aimed at an older audience.
There was far less choice for travellers who still wanted adventure, social experiences and nightlife, but also wanted to relax, explore Croatia and actually remember their week.
Roam Sailing was created to fill that gap.
The idea was to create a Croatia sailing holiday for people who had outgrown the typical party-tour atmosphere but weren't looking for a traditional group tour either.
A Roam week might include a cocktail and a night out in Hvar, followed by a morning swim in the Adriatic, a walking tour, an adventure or simply some time relaxing on the boat.
It's about having fun without making drinking the entire point of the trip.

Why Does Roam Sailing Use Motorboats?
Roam Sailing uses large motorboats rather than traditional small sailing boats.
Although our experiences are commonly referred to as Croatia sailing tours, our focus is on creating a comfortable and spacious experience for a larger group of travellers.
Traditional small sailing boats are generally designed for much smaller groups. We wanted something different.

Who Are Roam Sailing Tours For?
Roam Sailing is designed for travellers in their mid-20s to mid-40s who want a social, adventurous and relaxed Croatia holiday without the typical party-tour atmosphere.
Age isn't a strict requirement.
It's more about mentality than age.
You might be travelling solo, with a partner or with friends. You might be in your mid-20s, 30s or 40s.
What matters is that you enjoy meeting new people, exploring new places and having a good time, while also appreciating that there's more to a holiday than drinking every night.
You're the type of traveller who might enjoy a cocktail in Hvar, spend the afternoon swimming, wake up early for an adventure and finish the day watching the sunset from the deck.

A Social Croatia Sailing Experience, Not a Party Tour
Is Roam Sailing a party tour? No.
Roam Sailing is a social and adventurous Croatia sailing experience, not a dedicated party boat.
We absolutely enjoy going out. You're in Croatia, and destinations such as Hvar and Dubrovnik offer incredible nightlife that is worth experiencing.
But our tours aren't built around getting drunk every night.
Instead, we diversify the week with swimming, exploring, optional activities, local experiences, food, relaxation and time to enjoy the boat.
You can have a great night out and still want to get up the next morning and jump into the Adriatic.
That's the Roam mentality.

Our founder and team have spent years exploring the Croatian coast, getting to know its islands, towns, restaurants, beaches, activities and nightlife.
That experience influences where we go and how we structure our 8-day Croatia sailing itinerary.
Our destinations include some of the best-known places along the Dalmatian Coast, including Hvar, Korčula, Mljet and Dubrovnik, but the experience isn't simply about ticking destinations off a list.
It's about creating the right balance throughout the week.
One day might involve exploring a historic town. Another might be spent swimming and relaxing on the Adriatic. Another could involve an adventure or an evening experiencing Croatian nightlife.
We want you to see Croatia properly, while still having the freedom to enjoy the week your own way.
Meet Benny Madden — Founder & Owner
Roam Sailing was founded by Benny Madden, whose connection with Croatia began long before the company existed.
Benny first travelled to Croatia at 21 and immediately fell in love with the country. The coastline, crystal-clear water, islands, friendly people and atmosphere made a lasting impression. At 27, Benny had the opportunity to return to Croatia and work as a tour guide. That experience gave him years of first-hand knowledge of the Croatian coast and, more importantly, a close understanding of what travellers were looking for from their time in Croatia.
It was during this time that the idea for Roam Sailing began to take shape.
Benny saw that travellers could often choose between a party-focused tour and a more traditional travel experience, but there was a gap for people who wanted something in between.
He wanted to create a Croatia sailing experience where guests could explore, relax, meet people, enjoy the nightlife and experience the country properly. That idea became Roam Sailing.
For Benny, Roam Sailing isn't defined by a specific age group. It's defined by a way of travelling. It's about travelling with like-minded people, being open to new experiences, enjoying the occasional night out and still wanting to get up the next morning to see what Croatia has to offer. Most importantly, it's about creating an experience that people remember.
One of the things Benny is most proud of is seeing guests return to Roam Sailing year after year. Some guests have travelled with Roam Sailing for four consecutive years, returning to Croatia to reconnect with friends and experience another week on the water.
That's the kind of experience Roam Sailing was created to build.
